Hyping Our Friends
Those who have been following this project for some time know that Myrna Marcarian's band, Ruby on the Vine, contributed a great "Rebel Waltz" to this project. If you'd like to hear more from them -- and you should -- and you're in the NYC area, you should be aware of the following:
NYC's Knitting Factory on Tuesday, August 23rd, in The Tap Bar, at 8:00.
Four bands with roots in the East Village during the 80s will be playing as part of the Howl Music and Arts Festival. Performing are Antietam, featuring Tara Key; Glenn Mercer and Vinnie DeNunzio playing semi-acoustic in a quasi-Feelies reunion; Ruby on the Vine, featuring Myrna Marcarian from Human Switchboard with Anton Fier on drums; and The Martinets, featuring daniel rey (ramones/joey ramone producer/guitarist), dave rick (bongwater, phantom tollbooth, yo la tengo), roger murdock (king missile) and eamonn bowles who "are squarely in the nyc r n' r tradition. "
